Are You Feeling This: Suite For Ma Dukes, La Roux and Architecture in Helsinki

Lots of songs never make it to the radio that are getting lots of attention online.  Live tracks, sanctioned and unsanctioned remixes, mash-ups, overlooked gems by unsigned artists.  Every week on “Are You Feeling This,” we invite you to hear what the buzz is all about.  You tell us what you think.  Vote in the Are You Feeling This poll, leave a comment, send us an e-mail.

Last Week’s winner was Royksopp – “Happy Up Here”

This week on ”Are You Feeling This”: New Music from Carlos Ninos and Miguel Atwood-Fergueson project “Suite for Ma Dukes”, a remix of UK La Roux by Skream, and Architecture in Helsinki. Take a listen below and let us know what you think by voting in the “Are You Feeling This” listener poll.

Carlos Nino & Miguel Atwood-Ferguson – “Find A Way”
This is an orchestral interpretation of the song originally produced by J Dilla for A Tribe Called Quest. You can find it on a “Suite for Ma Dukes EP” which is tribute to late J Dilla.
La  Roux – “In For the Kill (Skream’s Let Get Ravey Mix)
Architecture in Helsinki – “That Beep”

  1. Feelin that La Roux, that’s dope. Went to Youtube and saw the video and see that she’s touring with Lily Allen. That fits actually. Anyway, I think the remix is slightly better than the original, so ya’ll need to add that joint to the playlist asap.

  2. I’m glad you dig the La Roux track.

  3. Its refreshing to hear an orchestral arrangement on 88Nine Radio Milwaukee. I hope that “Find a Way” finds its way into your playlist, and I would like to hear more tracks from this tribute to J Dilla. Thank you for giving this music a shot.

I love that “In For the Kill” does not reveal itself right away. It has a sense of drama you do not often find
on the radio. As someone once said, sometimes the music is between the notes. And that drum ‘n’ bass interlude takes me back (!) I always feel energized when I hear that kind of music. Please add this cut to your song rotation.
