top 5Time for another countdown, it’s our weekly ritual for Thursday afternoons at two. Scott Mullins and I have a list all about sadness. Not ordinary sad music here but the biggest sad bastards of them all. Artists who make music sad not for the purpose of uplifting spirits but to keep you in the mood…and the mood is bleak at beast, melancholy at most and definitely close to being clinically disturbed because the sentimentality doesn’t run dry with these artists, it’s their livelihood.
