Janelle Monae is Back in a “Big” Way

One of my favorite releases from 2008 came from Atlanta’s Janelle Monae.  Here sound was very hard to categorized, but that sound was amazing! Well she is backed with a forthcoming album  called the ArchAndroid, which is a follow-up to Metropolis Suite I of IV. The ArchAndroid will be released on May 18th, 2010.

According to her official blog, “The ArchAndroid” is an “EMOTION PICTURE” brought to you by Janelle Monáe and the Mad Minds of the Wondaland Arts Society. The star-studded featured cast includes the legendary Big Boi of OutKast, renowned poet Saul Williams, psychedelic dance-punk troupe Of Montreal, punk prophets Deep Cotton, and the Wondaland Arch Orchestra.

She released the track “Tightrope” featuring Big Boi of Outkast today on her website. Plus the song “Cold War” is also available. If this track is any indication what the album will be like, she will have another amazing album under her belt. She will be also on tour 2010. She will be at Schubas on the 30th and 31th of March.
